Livermore Red Walnuts
Livermore Red Walnuts is first grown in 1978 by the University of California, introduced to China in 2014 by our company Shangluo Wal Nut Co., Ltd., grafted to Shaanxi Walnut, and developed China Red Walnuts variety successfully. Until now, we have 100-hectare red walnuts plantation in our family-owned orchards that use sustainable farming techniques focusing on quality over quantity. These red walnuts are extremely rare. In China, they are only planted in our walnut orchards, making up less than 2% of the world's walnuts. Even though it’s an invented variety, the red walnut is not genetically modified. The flavor tastes like a regular English walnut, but it’s bolder and less bitter with more of a creamy texture.
Red walnuts are not only nice, but they taste great. They are loaded with Omega-3's, Vitamin B6 and Magnesium. A lower tannin content makes them less bitter while bringing out a creamy texture and natural walnut flavor. Many say they have a sweet and buttery taste. Livermore red walnuts are a wonderful snack, but they also add flair to salads or brighten up al-dente pastas. We like to include them in our pastries and ice creams. The bright red color makes the holidays even more festive during Christmas, NYE, or Valentine’s Day.
Livermore red walnuts might be healthier than other walnuts. Many suspect these walnuts have the highest antioxidant count of all nuts because their pigmentation is from anthocyanidins, which cause the skin color and antioxidant activities in superfoods.
Shangluo Wal Nut Company has been producing the in-shelled walnut with over 20 years' experience, we have the advanced walnut production line from fresh walnuts peeling, walnut cleaning to walnut drying. Red Walnut VS Walnut
NUTRITION PROFILE
Red walnuts are often heralded by nutritionists as a simple, yet vitamin rich snack. The Livermore red walnut is high in Vitamins B1, B2, B5, B6, and B9, as well as iron, zinc, phosphorous, and magnesium. These nutrients, in addition to its low sugar and net carbohydrate content make red walnuts a great option for managing blood sugar levels.
FAT CONTENT
Most nuts are rather high in lipids, steering fat-conscious consumers away from intaking them in high amounts. Those found in red walnuts are mostly healthy fats, such as Omega-3 fatty acids, Omega-6, and Omega 9. This variant of walnut shares a similar saturated fat content to the standard brown walnut – about 8-10%.
SWEET TASTE
If its color didn't give it away, biting into a red walnut will immediately reveal a few of its differentiating characteristics as well. Compared to brown walnuts, you'll notice a much tamer acidic taste when biting into a red one. Red walnuts also have a higher oil content that tends to culminate as one of the nut's many remarkable flavors.
